Why Indian pumpkin seeds for export
Pumpkin seed (Cucurbita pepo) is a globally-traded healthy snack seed with strong demand in supplement, retail-snack, and bakery applications. India produces both hulled (kernel-only, also called pepitas) and whole-shell pumpkin seeds, with Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh dominating commercial supply.
Buyer-relevant grades: hulled (pepitas) for direct retail snack consumption and supplement encapsulation; whole seed for traditional and roasting applications. Hulled commands a price premium for the processing involved.
ZoeM works with cooperative grower networks. Processing includes sun-drying, mechanical hulling (for hulled grade), sieving, and density grading. Pre-shipment testing covers moisture, foreign matter, broken/damaged kernels, and freshness markers (peroxide value for kernel oil).
