Why Indian flax seeds for export

India is one of the top global producers of flax seed (linseed). Central Indian states — Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh — produce both brown (standard) and golden (specialty) varieties at competitive export prices. The oil content of Indian flax is consistently high (38–42%), making it attractive both as a whole seed and for cold-press oil extraction.

Flax seed ships in two colour grades: brown flax is the global standard, used for omega-3 supplementation, baking, and oil pressing; golden flax (a slightly different cultivar) has a milder flavour and visual appeal for premium retail.

ZoeM works with cooperative grower networks across Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Processing includes mechanical cleaning, sieving, density grading, and cold storage to preserve oil quality. Pre-shipment testing covers moisture, foreign matter, oil content, and pesticide residues.

Buyer questions

Frequently asked questions

Brown vs golden flax — which?
Brown is the global standard, workhorse for supplements and oil. Golden has a milder flavour and visual appeal — premium retail. Nutritionally similar; both are excellent omega-3 sources.
What is the oil content?
Brown: 38–42%. Golden: 36–40%. Lab-verifiable per batch.
Is your flax cold-stored?
Yes. Flax oxidises if stored warm — we cold-store to preserve oil quality and shelf life. Container loading can be at ambient (short transits) or refrigerated (long-haul).
Can you supply organic flax?
Yes, USDA/EU organic certified flax available on dedicated supply contracts.
Do you also supply flax oil?
Cold-pressed flax oil available via partner processors. For dedicated orders we can quote.
How is flax different from chia?
Both are omega-3-rich seeds. Flax has a higher oil content (38–42% vs chia ~30%), nuttier flavour, and is typically ground before use to maximise nutrient absorption. Chia can be eaten whole.
What payment terms?
Standard 30% T/T advance + 70% against B/L, or 100% LC at sight.
